Embraer Commercial Aircraft
Embraer launched its first commercial product line in 1974 with a novel 30 seat pressurized twin turboprop feederliner, the EMB-120 "Brasilia”. The Brasilia was mainly operated in the United States and other nations in the Western Hemisphere. SkyWest Airlines was historically the largest operator of the Brasilia with over 62 in 2006 (Hardiman 2022). Embraer’s next major leap into commercial aviation was the development of the Embraer Regional Jet (ERJ) family in 1989. The ERJ family began with the ERJ 145, a 37 seat regional turbojet. Embraer went on to develop eight ERJ products, the 135, 145, 170, 175, 190, 195, 190-E2, 195-E2. Present day, Embraer has delivered almost 3000 ERJs that are still operated by more than 50 airlines worldwide. Embraer also designed and supports six military aircraft, including light attack fighter jets, basic trainers, an advanced attack trainer, and a high wing twin turbojet tactical transport aircraft.
